We are down to the business end of the season in the Sporting Edge SPHL P1 and P2 competitions. We have seen some great hockey over the past few weeks with teams leaving it all on the pitch. None more so that the epic tussle last week between St Oran’s and Tawa on the girl’s side. Not being able to be separated after regulation time, it was off to sudden death shootouts after a great game of hockey, with St Oran's prevailing. That was not the only game that saw shootout action with Aotea and WGC 2nds along with the Coll 2nds and HVHS both experiencing the highs and lows of a shootout competition.
There are plenty of great match ups across all games this week, whether teams are playing in semi finals looking for the opportunity to play in next Friday nights finals or a team who narrowly missed out in last week’s quarter finals looking to bounce back to finish the season off on the best possible note. With our impending move to level 1 on Monday, this will be the last week without spectators at school sport. Thank you to all our community who have respected the decision by the Colleges, College Sport Wellington and WHA and we will be excited to welcome you all back next week, provided we go to level 1 on Monday. Until then, please continue to respect the no spectator policy in place at all our venues. Good luck to all with their games this week.
