WHA NEWSLETTER // HOCKEY NEWS #11

September 04, 2020

Dear Hockey Community,

You may have seen on our WHA Facebook that Wellington Hockey hosted the Lower North Island Championship Tournaments for boys and girls.

This has been a great experience for the young people who got to play and for our turfs to see some outstanding local hockey played. Congrats to all the teams who participated and our other local school teams who went and played away.

Special Congratulations to Wellington Girls College, winning the Lower North Island Premiership in Palmerston North and Wellington College for their 2nd place finish in the same tournament. Also, to Onslow College the winners of the Lower North Island Championship Tournament here in Wellington, closely beating runners up, Scots College. And to Te Kura Kaupapa Maori o Ruamata for their win here against St Oran's, in an intense shoot out final.

School hockey continues as normal next week as we start approaching the business end of the season.

We have a link below with info around our latest updates on COVID. But please visit our website if you have any concerns about games this weekend. There is a section on Contact Tracing and FAQs there.

We will also update our Facebook page with any changes etc, so keep an eye on there.

We love seeing your team photos out there on the turfs, so if you have any, please send them to cat@wellingtonhockey to get featured in our newsletter/website.

Thank you for your continued support of Wellington Hockey, please be safe out there!

Contact Tracing //

In order for hockey to keep happening in Level 2, we really need our community to get behind us and take a few minutes to update your contact tracing forms. We have been chasing a few clubs and schools around getting these done because we need them to keep each other and ourselves safe moving forward. Please make this a priority to get done.

Any questions, please email Sandeep at info@wellingtonhockey.org.nz
