PERFORM Holiday Camps - with Stephen Jenness

WHEN:

U13s - Tuesday 7th and Monday 13th July (9-3pm)

U15s - Wednesday 8th and Tuesday 14th July (9-3pm)

Both days will have different focus areas and cover different content.

WHAT:

The WHA PERFORM programmes are development days that will connect our aspiring youth with one of the best to have ever done it. The programmes will be led by 250 cap Black Stick Stephen Jenness. Steve progressed through the Wellington ranks before establishing himself as a prolific goal scorer on the International scene, amassing an impressive goal tally and attending multiple Olympics, Commonwealth Games and World Cups. We are extremely fortunate to have Steve back home and wanting to connect with the next generation. He will be well supported by other elite players to form a strong coaching team. There will be a focus on technical skills and key tactical concepts, with a balance of honing in on some critical basic skills whilst also learning new skills and ideas. Steve will bring a wealth of playing and coaching experience having done it all in the game, as well as unique insights into how youth hockey is delivered overseas where he has spent several years leading representative campaigns in World leading Belgium.

The cost is $65 for one day, or $120 for both days.

WHY:

WHA wants to provide a meaningful and affordable development opportunity for youth in the wider Wellington region. Following the significant disruption and delays to the season, this is a fantastic opportunity for any aspiring player to receive high level coaching and get some quality time back out on the turf. The July holiday window times well with the U13 and U15 representative programmes commencing shortly after, providing a perfect preparation into those programmes.

WHO:

The WHA PERFORM programmes are a development opportunity for any local player (field players and goal keepers) that wish to improve their game and enjoy some further time on the turf. Players must register and attend the appropriate age related programmes, following the usual representative age group criteria.

With U13 and U15 representative programmes just around the corner, what better way to learn some new skills and grow your game than from one of the best in the country!
