WHA Summer Talent Programmes

December 04, 2019

We are pleased to open expressions of interest for the WHA Summer Talent Programme commencing early 2020. These programmes replaces Development CAPs and Junior CAPs as we move into 2020 under the new Association led development model as opposed to the past Regional model.

The WHA Summer Talent Programme will be solely hockey focused after review of the previous CAPs model. This preseason programme will focus on the technical and tactical upskill of our talented U15 and U18 athletes with quality coaches leading the programme and quality support trainers. It will be capped at 40 athletes for U15s and 30 athletes for U18s. The programme will provide the best platform to develop and grow your game as you prepare for the 2020 season. For applicants that miss out on the Summer Talent Programme, there will be another WHA pre-season development programme being launched for secondary age athletes. WHA EXPLORE with details to be announced early December.

Having reviewed the purpose and programme outcomes, we have been able to reduce the cost of the programme from previous years, while being able to still deliver high quality, hockey specific programming. The cost for the 6-week programme is $250 for two contact sessions per week.
