The Wellington Hockey Association (Wellington Hockey) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kit Taylor as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Kit joins the organisation from his role as Head of Regulation in the New Zealand Army, where he leads four branches and is a principal advisor to the Army Leadership and Army Management Boards. Kit is currently the Chair of NZ Army rugby and is responsible for all facets of NZ Army rugby for both domestic and international competitions. He will take over from Trafford Wilson who left the post in late-January to take up a position as CEO of Snowsports Scotland.
“We look forward to having someone of Kit’s calibre and experience in our organisation” says Wellington Hockey’s Chair, Sharyn Mitchell. “Kit joins the organisation at a time where we have built a stable platform for delivery of the game at all levels and a number of exciting opportunities for the future of hockey in the Wellington region”.
“Kit will be able to bring a new perspective and thinking to Wellington Hockey, and build on what we have achieved and our successes over the last four years. He will play a key role in steering Wellington Hockey towards its objectives as defined by our strategic plan – which aims to direct the sport to 2020.”
Kit has significant experience in strategic leadership and understands the challenges faced by sports organisations in New Zealand. He is looking forward to working with the team at the Wellington Hockey Association and everyone across the Wellington hockey community.
Kit will take up his role in the coming weeks.
