Open to Years 1–6, this six-week programme welcomes new and returning players to develop their hockey skills, stay active, and make friends in a fun, supportive environment. With sessions across four Wellington hubs and a bonus "Bring a Friend" day, it’s the perfect way to try hockey or build on existing skills.

Summer Hockey
Team Registrations Open for Summer Hockey Fives 2025
Team registrations are now open for the 2025 Summer Hockey Fives Competition, starting February 4th. Choose from Fast Fives for competitive play, Fun Fives for social teams and beginners, or Family Fives for families with young kids. Games will be played on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at NHS, Fraser, and Elsdon, running until March 12th.

Summer Development Programme in 2025 for U14, U16, and U18 Players
Wellington Hockey’s Summer Development Programme is back for 2025, with new sessions for U14 players added due to the success of the previous programme. The six-week programme, starting on January 27th, offers skill development for U14, U16, and U18 players ahead of the season. Registrations are now open on PlayHQ.

Exciting News: College Sport Wellington to Manage Secondary School Hockey Competitions from 2025
College Sport Wellington (CSW) has partnered with Wellington Hockey Association (WHA) to take over the management of secondary school hockey competitions across the Wellington region starting in 2025. The partnership will allow CSW to handle competition administration while WHA focuses on facility bookings and youth development.

The U11 Hockey Festival at Fraser Park brought together players from our NHS, Fraser, Elsdon Hubs along with Wairarapa for a sunny day of fun, friendly competition, and skillful play.
