The Years 5 & 6 competition will start on 3rd May 2025 until 13th September 2025, on Saturday mornings between 9:00am-12:30pm. The draw will be published on PlayHQ. Please check playing and non-playing days outlined here.

Kiwi Sticks is open to a range of abilities from introductory level players that are new to hockey and those players who are familiar with hockey and have an understanding of the game. The competition will host a 6-a-side, third-field format with 20 minute halves. The focus of the competition will see an introduction to playing positions for and positional concepts. We strongly encourage rotation of playing positions for all players. This encourages development of different, transferable skills and conceptual understanding across all players.

 

The HUB based Kiwi Sticks competition will take place at Wellington's National Hockey Stadium, Lower Hutt's Fraser Park, Upper Hutt's Maidstone Park, Porirua's Elsdon Park and the Kapiti Sports Turf in Paraparaumu.
